This album was inspired by the phenomenon it is named after, the mysterious "Tunguska Event" which took place back in 1908 at Krasnoyarsk Krai, Russia, where a meteoroid or more likely a comet few into earth's atmosphere and exploded several kilometers above the surface, on which all human life resides.

The explosion over the sparsely populated Eastern Siberian Taiga flattened an estimated 80 million trees over an area of 2,150 km2 830 sq mi of forest, and eyewitness reports suggest that at least three people may have died in the event.
