Álbum

Give Up is the only studio album by American indie band The Postal Service, released on February 18, 2003, through Sub Pop Records. The band began as a side project between electronic music artist Jimmy Tamborello and Death Cab for Cutie's vocalist Ben Gibbard. The two had previously worked together for a track on Dntel's album Life Is Full of Possibilities. The Postal Service's only album stands as an indietronic masterpiece and one of the best albums of the Up by The Postal Service, released 19 February 2003 1. The District Sleeps Alone Tonight 2. Such Great Heights 3. Sleeping In 4. Nothing Better 5. Recycled Air 6. Clark Gable 7. We Will Become Silhouettes 8. This Place Is A Prison 9. Brand New Colony 10. Natural Anthem On November 25th, in perfect harmony with the release of the new Postal Service documentary, Everything Will Change, we will be reissuing the single LP version of this classic album, which has been created using the 10th-anniversary remastered tapes. The Postal Service's lone album has proved surprisingly influential, casting a long shadow over the 2000s. Not only did it show up in films and on television- Garden State, Greys Anatomy, . but its songs were covered regularly by a wide range of artists, from Ben Folds to metal act Confide to a ska act called Tip the Van. Even in 2013, when those perfectly aligned freckles have faded, its not hard to hear why Give Up would be a hit. The albums highs represent a perfect marriage between Tamborellos synths, which sound like the first rays of dawn hitting a Mister Bulky, and Gibbards gee-whiz lyrics, which possess a mussed-hair whimsy. Give Up is, to date, The Postal Services only album. Accompanying this was a 15-minute mini-concertdocumentary. Give Up Q&A. Featuring Jen Wood. Producers Chris Walla & Jimmy Tamborello. Writers Benjamin Gibbard. Accordion Jimmy Tamborello. Listen free to The Postal Service Give Up The District Sleeps Alone Tonight, Such Great Heights and more. 10 tracks 47:20. Already assured a place on the best of 2003 cd list, The Postal Services first album Give Up, and the group themselves, have experienced a sudden almost startling rising success. Theyve deftly shaken-up America like a gentle, buzzing electrical storm, sending out wonderfully harmonic, wake up world tones from seemingly everyones stereos. Genre: Electropop. Amongst the conversation, I mentioned Give Up. They replied I havent heard Give Up, whats it like For no real reason, I had no problem jumping on the opportunity to really go in depth about it. I have never taken a moment to really convey the very deep feelings that dance around this album. read more. Посмотреть сведения об участниках альбома, рецензии, композиции и приобрести альбом CD от Give Up на Postal Service was an American indie pop supergroup from Seattle, Washington, consisting of singer Ben Gibbard, producer Jimmy Tamborello, and Jenny Lewis on background vocals. The album reached number 114 on the US Billboard 200 album chart, and received platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America. The Postal Service's Give Up is a warm project, a welcoming front door into the world of electronic music for those more accustomed to acute displays of emotion, and an album which fantastically blends two contrasting sounds to incredible effect. Gibbard would return to work with Death Cab, sneaking back to this area of the musical spectrum only for singles and to record the superb 'Couches In Alleys' with Styrofoam, and Dntel would fall back into his own projects, but Give Up remains a monument to the capacity for brief but dynamic collaborations to make a mark on the landscape
