Touch The Sky is one of the best electro -industrial tracks I have ever heard , just listen to the magnificent vocals , they have tremendous power and emotional intensity , the music has rich ,complex and clever production , the Chorus is just like an anthem , express beauty and power ,the music has a fantastic rhythm. A Glorious song!

Other favorite tracks: Lethal Weapon - sounds like an attack of layers of sounds combined with harsh vocals, there is huge amount of Reverb effect on these sounds , the Reverb effect gives a lot of power to the music and creates Rich musical production.

Unclose Your Fear - the music and the vocal effect on the singing create an atmosphere of Frost and feelings of threat. Great Track .

Saturday Night - very strong lyrics and very harsh sounds and vocals Unlike the Chorus that has hypnotic melody and vocals filled with sadness. The contrast in the music and in the vocal styles between the Chorus and the rest of the song create very interesting song.

Hate - In this song the singing clear and strong,
, in the chorus there are beautiful vocals with mesmerizing sound effect on the vocals.

Sex, Violence, Drugs - the last track on the album , instrumental track with amazing rhythm and sounds , great vocal samples and very fast rhythm . In the final minutes the atmosphere changes completely , the fast rhythm and the sounds vanished and then enter to the track minimal ambient sounds with very slow and very different beat , it's Mesmerizing!

Yet another interesting & variable album from A-S, this keeps the sound we have grown to expect fron the label which seems to specialise in such sounds. In ways this reminds me a little of THE CASSANDRA COMPLEX's music - full of colour and variety. And there's a couple of 'chartable' pieces also!
The album opens with "Lethal Weapon" which romps along at a medium-paced beat featuring a simplistic motif of mildly dramatic & moody music over which a voice FX'd as snarly as anything on FRONT LINE ASSEMBLY's music growls it's message across. "Wake Up And Smell The 90's" has another simplish rhythmic backbone which flanges slowly along, joined by a variety of almost-hidden sounds while several vocal samples - found dialogue - are laid over the top saying the title & "I just want to smash your face in". "Unclose Your Fear" is again a basic structure, yet more variable in ways than many tracks on this album. It is another 'song' in that there are formed lyrics - often rare in this field. There's even a piece which sounds like something from COIL's "Love's Secret Domain", although it probably isn't. "Touch The Sky" changes direction a little & becomes the most obvious 'single' on the album, having a flavour a lot like ATTRITION aiming for the charts. It's structure is a lot more involved than the other tracks, giving it a huge, standing-on-tip-toes sound, reaching high with small-but-shining hooks. "Saturday Night" thunders off on a Cyberpunk beat, making the track into a sort of enhanced Punk version of "Johnny B Goode". It's full of energy & vitality, an explosive piece of music stuck in the middle of more electronic, melodic pieces. "The Innercity" is a skeletal dance beat over which a large variety of sounds & rhythmic enhancements are layered. It's thinness makes it a perfect clothes-horse for a colourful variety of sound. "Hate" comes next, showing yet another side of VOMITO NEGRO - and possibly the second candidate for single release. They seem to have true Punk roots in there sornwhere, because this has a flavour which reminds me a lot of the 70's/80's & some of the New Wave-y material which charted. And this track shows just what the vocalist is capable of, as he fills a cavernous void to the hidden rafters. "Sex, Violence, Drugs" concludes the album, being the longest piece here, and is the must variable piece here, transmuting from simple thin, clicky structures to a thicker, beatier music, It fades away on an almost-harmonic sound at the end, a calm but moody Industrial sunset.

VOMITO NEGRO are GUY VAN MIEGHEM & GIN DEVO with help from PATRICK DE KAYE & PETER DILLEN.

Honestly after loving "The New Drug" and "Shock" so much, I was expecting another stellar album. This one is so hard to acquire a copy of but I loved the band so much I made the sacrifice. Instead of outstanding, I'd hand this album a "very good."

Despite the corny opening, "Lethal Weapon" is a good coursing EBM song with militaristic beat and starts the album off strongly. "Wake Up and Smell The 90's" turned out to be another of the Vomito guys' clever instrumentals, splicing together different movie samples to make their point. Unfortunately the album goes downhill immediately with "Unclose your Fear" which is plodding and barely catchy enough to sustain interest for 3 minutes, but goes on for over five. Guy can screech his vocals all he wants, there's no saving this track from oblivion. The next track saves the album with "Touch The Sky" which is perhaps the most melodic, engaging song since "Children of Today" four years earlier on Dare. If there ever was a GOOD compiling of Vomito's works, this song would surely have to be there.

"Saturday Night" is criminally short but brought a smile to my face immediately, recalling the abrasive textures of 1989's Shock album. It's especially clever how they poke fun at the song "Johnny B. Good"
in the chorus. The album sinks back into mediocrity with "The Inner City"...not that its a bad instrumental, it gets from A to B, but it seems pointless after 2 stellar vocal tracks. "Hate" is criminally short but hearkens back to the gothic melody of "Touch The Sky".

Lastly, the lengthy instrumental "Sex Violence & Drugs" ends the album. I must admit disappointment again in that they couldn't have ended with something more clever and vocal driven. Still its a good instrumental in itsef and outshines "The Inner City", the last 3 minutes of subdued ambient sound washes are really cool.

In closing, there's certainly no reason to ignore this album, especially if you're a fan. It definitely shows a great deal of improvement on Guy and Gin's song-writing skills, but a few dull or uninteresting tracks like "Unclose your Fear" and "Inner City" sorta leave me neutral. Still I give this one quite a few plays, but have my skip button handy.
